Tragedy?

Many people have a lot to say about the subject of Joe Paterno and Penn State. Most of it is negative. The first tweet that I saw was calling what happened a Tragedy. I do not know exactly what to call this situation, but I do not know if I would call it a tragedy. The early days there were various views of the scandal. Media has greatly amplified these views. Media will take advantage of anything, and it has the power to make things worse or make them better. From what I see they are making things worse.
It could be media that is the underlying cause of these cover ups. Mass media has built up Joe Paterno and Penn State's reputation, and I believe the institution would hate for all that to be ripped apart. It could be that the fear of having this school in a negative light is what drove the idea of covering up the situation. This in no way is acceptable. Where are the moral values? Where is the responsibility? What upsets me the most about this is that Joe Paterno and all these other people knew "something" (can't be said exactly what) was wrong and he just passed on the responsibility of dealing with it. It is obvious to me that he was fully aware of the situation. But what upsets me even more is the media. i read more that 50 tweets in the last 24 hours about this, some poked fun at the subject (which is wrong), and some said that it was completely right for Joe Paterno to get fired. But out of all the tweets not ONE said anything about the victims that were, and potentially hurt because no one spoke up. The media is talking about the "Tragedy" of losing an iconic coach because of a "stupid mistake" but the truth is that this [the true tragedy] is a scandal and media needs to focus more on the moral mistakes and the victims.
