People are disgusting.

Ill start off by saying that I did not know anything about Penn State, Sandusky, Paterno, or even about their football team before this whole scandal. Social media has definitely played a huge part in this because not only did it inform the world, but it definitely spread the word about the case so quickly. The media has also shaped the scandal because they are not only putting the coaches in the limelight, but the schools reputation keeps getting lower and lower. I don't think that this is necessarily a bad thing though. The media is getting this information out that has been hidden for so long. The idea of going to a school who cares more about their reputation than doing the right thing disgusts me, especially in this situation.
Power, media, and deviance all intersect because these coaches are given this power. They are obviously abusing this power and it needs to be stopped. These coaches are supposed to be role models, they are part of a team and help guide these students to follow this path to doing things right. How are they supposed to live a good life if they are being taught by people who commit crimes? This is where deviance comes in. Sandusky is supposed to be this role model. You see coaches as a sort of guardian of the team, yet in Sandusky's case he is a deviant. He should not be able to have the power, he obviously is misusing it and doesn't deserve it. The media intersects with this as well because he is now being shown as the person he really is.
I just think that it is ridiculous that they tried covering up the situation. What kind of person who is supposed to help kids just let people do those horrible things to them? How would anyone let anyone do those things to children? I don't care if he is some football coach for some team I really don't even care about! I feel that not only Sandusky, but all of the other people involved in this scandal and cover up should get locked up too! I just think that this is all disgusting and I think that Penn state should be ashamed of themselves, along with all of the people involved in this.
