Women of Color and Their First Step

In “The Pathology of White Privilege”, Tim Wise presents the idea of white privilege, explains how it came about, and tries to let others know how the damages it can do not only to people of color, but as well to white people. As an Asian, I also realize that a white skin in the United States opens many doors for whites whether or not we approve of the way dominance has been conferred on us. Especially to women of color, they have to face with many obstacles in the way to find the equity with white women and men in the work place, sport and social life as well.

But,

With all their talents, and patience, women of colors did make many miracles ; For instance, The 2011 Nobel Peace Prize honors three women of colors who have furthered the causes of peace and women's rights in their own countries. According to the Nobel Committee , these women were chosen "for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women's rights to full participation in peace-building work."

So,I think the Nobel prize is the first step for color women in the long-run to erase the the barriers of color and racism in society. Women will achieve enormous success and became incredibly popular by their own talents and efforts.
