The power, media and deviance intersect in a way in which people are able to take advantage of resources and use them for good, or also bad. Having the opportunity to say basically anything they want in the media (public cites) can cause people to say very negative things about the scandal tat can easily influence the thoughts of others. Also, in a different sense, with such power that the program holds, it is crazy to see how big this scandal has gotten, and how there are definitely hailing negative remarks in the media about the men involved in the scandal, but also terrible remarks about the school itself.
One framework that may be used to understand these crimes and the cover up would be power structure. For one, knowing that by outing Sandusky as a child molester, the whole football program at PSU would have been ruined (as it is now). It goes to show that no one wanted to take down "the man" (calling him "the man" because he is high on the power structure in the US due to the high popularity and stature that college football has in the US) because then America's favorite past time would be tarnished (which it is now) and would not be the grand American sport that the US is infamous for.
My personal reaction to the scandal is that it is disgusting and appalling that this wasn't taken care of at the time that it happened. I feel that everyone who knew about it at the time should be fired with no question. I personally have fond the media coverage helpful because it has given me a lot of new facts and insights that I would have never known if it had not been for these media sources.
