Penn State Scandal

The media has played a big role in the penn state scandal. There has been countless stories coming up that are related to this scandal. Many people have different perspectives due to how the media has expressed this story. It is pretty clear that power is a big factor when it comes to this scandal. Since Paterno knew what had happened with Sandusky would become a huge story and that it might have affected him and the program, he decided not to say anything to the authorities. It is evident that money and power had to a lot with Paterno's decision not to notify the authorities of what was going on.

I believe that it is totally disgusting what happened with this whole scandal and how it was handled. If Paterno knew that this was occurring he should have told the police. I just find it crazy that nobody had the courage to report Sandusky to the authorities. Its just crazy how long this scandal was covered up and how long it took for somebody to step up and say something. It comes to show us how things are ran in this country. The people with power could get away with covering a story only because they have the money and the power. It is just sad how many people's lives were destroyed because nobody had the courage to report this vicious crime when it first was observed. It only would have taken ONE person to make a difference. Only if one person would have told the authorities what was going on many people would be living different lives right now. It is just disgusting how all of this occurred and in a place where many people should feel safe which is a public institution.
